06/ ARCHITECTURE / RESIDENTIAL

The house was designed as an architectural self-portrait of Magda Małyga, rooted in her personal identity and experience of growing up in the Kashubian countryside. Childhood memories become the starting point for exploring a contemporary form of architecture grounded in local context.

The project responds to the gradual disappearance of distinctive architectural forms traditionally associated with specific regions, seeking to connect local identity with contemporary ways of living. It is the result of an in-depth study of traditional Kashubian architecture, its forms, materials and spatial organisation, combined with the architect’s personal memories.

Rather than recreating traditional architecture, the house offers a contemporary interpretation of it. A place where memory, locality and modern life come together within a single architectural form.
